Our Youth Need What You Can Give

Business Woman

Each of us has something to give our world. And somebody out there needs what you have to give. Giving is not always a financial thing. Today one of the most valuable gifts we can give someone may be our time. Sharing with others stems from our inner being; it is giving of ourselves, our talents and our abilities. You have something somebody needs. It is the value of your own experiences. It is the gift of sharing your professional steps, your trials and your trails, with the youth of our communities.

You need only to make a deliberate and conscious choice to give at least one hour of your time, on a date or dates convenient to you, to speak at schools or youth groups about your career and the steps you took to get there, and Footsteps to Follow will do the rest.

In 2009, a year that history was made by the inauguration of the 44th President of the United States. We encourage you to take time to heed our President's call to community service and to listen to the small still voice within and volunteer to inform and light the path for that young person, ...that budding professional.

Getting Started…

Tell us about your profession and the journey you took.
We will match you with the schools or groups in the New York City metropolitan area in need of our services and provide support and contact information. Check out our Volunteer Blog.

"You can't be what you don't see.  I didn't think about being a doctor.  I didn't think about being a clerk in a store.  I'd never seen a black clerk in a clothing store."

Former US Surgeon General
